Trump’s PACs pour tens of millions into key Senate and House races ahead of 2026 midterms

Donald Trump’s super-PAC and affiliated groups have spent tens of millions on competitive Senate and House contests in the final month before the 2026 midterm elections.

As the 2026 midterm election approaches, Donald Trump’s political operation is channeling substantial cash into pivotal congressional contests. His super-PAC MAGA Inc., together with No Going Back PAC Inc. and Safety & Affordability PAC Inc., have each reported some of their largest expenditures to date, targeting Senate races in Ohio, Texas and Michigan and a slate of competitive House districts across Florida, New York, Michigan and Maine.

By late August, MAGA Inc. reported a cash balance of $415 million, with Trump pledging to spend between $400 million and $500 million during the midterms. Observers note the disparity between the massive war chest and the relatively modest outlays, prompting speculation about the ultimate destination of the funds. Former communications director Anthony Scaramucci said that Trump appears to view the presidency as a money-making venture, aiming to generate billions for himself and possibly secure self-pardon. Additionally, a report highlighted that staffer Meredith O’Rourke, dubbed “princess of darkness,” relays donor requests to Trump, influencing policy considerations based on contributions ranging from $5 million to $50 million.
