Turkic States summit in Ankara to boost agriculture, space and trade cooperation

Leaders of the Organization of Turkic States will meet in Ankara, where they plan to advance joint projects in agriculture, digital trade, space and transport.

The Organization of Turkic States is convening in Ankara under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the city designated as the Turkic World's Tourism Capital for 2026. Attendees will assess the bloc's work across political ties, trade, transport, energy, digital transformation and cultural cooperation, and will adopt the Ankara Declaration to deepen institutional links. Key agenda items include the Middle Corridor rail and road network, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, and a digital agriculture data platform aimed at smart farming.

A digital economy partnership, already ratified by Türkiye, seeks to remove e-commerce barriers among members. The summit also follows a recent framework agreement on a joint CubeSat project signed at the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya. Turkish business groups will host side meetings, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is slated to meet Turkish investors on October 30.

Why it matters

The summit could shape trade, technology and infrastructure links across the Turkic world, affecting regional economies and connectivity.
