Two missing Frontier Constabulary officers found dead in Bannu area
The bodies of Havaldar Ishaq and Sepoy Umar Hayat, two Frontier Constabulary members who vanished on Sunday, were discovered in a graveyard near Palosi.
Havaldar Ishaq and Sepoy Umar Hayat, both serving in Platoon No 59 of the Frontier Constabulary, were found dead on Monday at the Kamali graveyard in Palosi, Bannu. They had gone missing the previous day after allegedly being abducted by unknown armed men from Saifan Kozi Khel in the Karam Garhi area, which falls under the Cantt police station's jurisdiction. Following the disappearance, security presence in the region was increased and a search for the perpetrators was initiated.
Officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. This episode comes a week after an Elite Force constable was killed within the Bannu Cantonment Police Station's area. Monthly figures from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies indicate a 50% jump in terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in August compared with July, though fatalities and injuries fell.
