The British government announced a package of new measures that will restrict Iran's use of the UK financial network and broaden prohibitions on a range of goods, technologies and services. Iranian aircraft will also be barred from landing in the UK without prior approval. Foreign Office minister Stephen Doughty said the steps are intended to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. The Iranian embassy in London has not responded to requests for comment.
