At the high-level UN General Assembly session, Ukraine’s foreign minister Andrii Sybiha reported active negotiations on energy and maritime ceasefires involving Turkey, Egypt and India. Turkey and Egypt are concentrating on restoring Black Sea navigation to enable grain exports, while India is exploring a combined food-security and energy pause. Sybiha stressed that any progress requires Russia’s agreement, with contacts between Moscow and the other parties ongoing.
He also expressed Ukraine’s readiness for a trilateral summit with the United States and Russia, but said no Russian overture has been received. The minister dismissed Sergei Lavrov’s Security Council speech as repetitive propaganda and called for stronger international pressure on Moscow. Additionally, Sybiha mentioned constructive talks with European leaders and thanked Israel for joining a UN statement supporting Ukraine.
