Umno Youth chief urges DAP minister Nga to keep resignation promise after Loke quits

Umno Youth chief Muhamad Akmal Saleh used a social media post to press Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming to follow through on a prior promise to resign under specific circumstances. Akmal pointed to the recent resignation of DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke as transport minister, which came after the government ordered conditional house arrest for former prime minister Najib Razak. He attached a past resignation letter he wrote as a Melaka executive councillor as a guide for Nga.

Loke emphasized that other DAP ministers would stay in the Unity Government, noting that some factions hope DAP's exit could trigger a parliamentary dissolution. Nga had earlier said he would be the first to quit if UMNO achieved a landslide win in Johor and Najib was released without a proper sentence. The public exchange reflects ongoing political jockeying within Malaysia's coalition government.
