UN commission says genocide persists as Israeli forces kill 14 in Gaza
Israeli troops killed 14 Palestinians in Gaza over two days, including six-year-old Tahani Mohammad Shalalfah, while a UN commission accused Israel of continuing genocide.
According to the Palestinian health ministry, Israeli operations resulted in 14 Palestinian deaths in Gaza over the past two days, the most recent being six-year-old Tahani Mohammad Shalalfah, who was shot by soldiers. One outlet's reports indicated intense tank fire in the Al-Alam and Al-Shakoush districts west of Rafah and artillery bombardment in northern Gaza. In central Gaza's Deir al-Balah, a security mission left two members of the security services dead and two injured.
The ministry also noted the overall death toll since October 2023 has risen to 74,561, with 1,565 deaths recorded after the ceasefire began in October 2025. Meanwhile, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory declared that Israel continues to perpetrate genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity across Gaza and the West Bank, citing the use of heavy munitions, drones, and sniper fire in densely populated areas.
