Victim describes vomiting and crying after alleged rape by former teacher in court

In Swansea Crown Court, the complainant against former teacher Daniel Gravell described how, after the alleged 2021 rape at the Baltic Inn hotel, she hurried to a bathroom, vomited and cried silently to avoid being heard. Gravell, who also stands accused of rapes in 2001 and 2005, maintains his innocence. Defence barrister Julia Flanagan cross-examined the witness, challenging her account of the encounter, suggesting the interaction was consensual, and probing her counselling sessions in 2022.

The testimony also covered the victim's earlier police interview in 2025, her exposure to unflattering Facebook posts about Gravell, and the fact that she blocked him on social media after the incident. The trial continues with further examination of text messages and the circumstances surrounding the meeting that was supposed to be for coffee.
