Zelensky and Romanian President Dan pledge joint drone project and SAFE initiative

At the Carpathian Eight summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Romanian President Nicușor Dan and expressed gratitude for the ongoing dialogue between the two countries. He announced that Ukraine and Romania will expand cooperation to a regional level, focusing on the Carpathian area, which promises economic and security benefits. Specific projects slated for acceleration include the joint production of drones, the SAFE program, infrastructure development, humanitarian assistance, and measures to secure the Black Sea region.

Zelensky also thanked Romania for backing the Carpathian Initiative and for its consistent support to Ukraine. The discussion underscored a broader push to deepen ties and coordinate security efforts across the shared border region.
