Zelensky says Ukrainian strikes hit Russian oil, drone and military sites

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that deep strikes on Russian territory achieved significant results, targeting a Black Sea site, a drone launch complex in Orel, oil infrastructure in Samara and a supply depot in Briansk.

President Volodymyr Zelensky told one outlet that Ukraine’s recent deep strikes on Russian soil produced "significant results," citing a hit on a Black Sea target and a drone launch and storage site in the Orel region. He added that attacks also struck an oil facility in Samara and a supply depot in the occupied Briansk area, part of a broader effort to cripple Russia’s war-fighting capacity. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will continue to deny Russia the means to sustain the conflict.

In Briansk, interim governor Iegor Kovaltchouk reported that a 16-year-old boy was injured by a drone-dropped explosive, a bus driver was hospitalized after a drone hit a bus, and a large agricultural operation suffered extensive drone damage, though no workers were killed. He also claimed that Russian anti-air defenses shot down 139 drones in the region over the past 24 hours.

Why it matters

The strikes show Ukraine’s ability to hit strategic targets deep inside Russia, raising the conflict’s intensity.
