Zoox Extends Robotaxi Service to Include Las Vegas Airport Trips

Zoox, the autonomous-vehicle subsidiary of Amazon, started charging for robotaxi rides in Las Vegas and now adds service to Harry Reid International Airport. The expansion, effective Thursday, lets riders request trips to either airport terminal, with pickups and drop-offs located near baggage claim. The rollout follows a two-year federal exemption that permits Zoox to run up to 2,5​000 vehicles and bypass certain safety standards.

Zoox argues its door-to-door airport service gives it an edge over Uber and Lyft, which require a short walk from a curbside drop-off. The company plans further testing in San Diego and Houston and joins other firms such as Tesla, Uber, and Waymo, which have recently received permits to operate robotaxis in Clark County.
