According to the e-Kehakiman system, 84-year-old former minister Rais Yatim is slated to be charged before Judge Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin at 9 a.m. on the courthouse grounds in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. In July, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, ordered the revocation of Rais’s state award to safeguard the royal institution’s honor.
Rais had openly supported a three-undang proposal and a former undang to remove Tuanku Muhriz from the throne, intensifying one outlet royal crisis. He attended the ceremony when Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Jaafar was proclaimed the new Yang Dipertuan Besar at a hotel in Melaka in June, an event the Negeri Sembilan palace declared unconstitutional. Rais, a former UMNO deputy president and now chairman of Wawasan, now faces legal proceedings tied to the dispute.
