Negeri Sembilan ruler cancels ten exco appointments, sparking speculation on new lineup

The ruler of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz, together with Tuanku Munawir, ordered the removal of ten state executive council members, citing violations of their oath of office and loyalty pledge. The dismissed group comprised seven UMNO legislators, plus one each from MCA, Wawasan and PAS. Four BN assemblymen—Saiful Yazan Sulaiman (Johol), Sufian Maradzi (Seri Menanti), Zaidy Abdul Kadir (Jeram Padang) and Koh Kim Swee (Repah)—were identified, and Ridzuan Ahmad, the two-term Gemas assemblyman, addressed the speculation.

Those officials had been called to appear at the Istana Besar Seri Menanti in Kuala Pilah on Friday. The state’s legal bodies, DKU Negeri Sembilan and the Attorney General’s Chambers, rejected claims that the dismissal altered the monarch’s status, affirming the ruler remains the head of state. Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim supported the statement that the exco removal was lawful.
