Alberta UCP support slips as NDP gains ground ahead of separation vote

The NDP’s support rose by five points, marking its best performance since the 2023 provincial election. The poll reveals that virtually all NDP voters plan to vote against separation, whereas UCP voters are divided, with a slight majority favoring a legal separation process.

Overall, support for remaining in Canada increased modestly, while backing for separation fell. The survey also notes a six-point drop in Premier Danielle Smith’s personal popularity and highlights recent public disputes within the UCP, including calls for a leadership review.
