André Ventura blames PSD and Livre for alleged break-in at Chega office
Chega leader André Ventura claimed that the PSD and Livre parties were behind a suspected intrusion at his party’s parliamentary office, rejecting accusations that he staged the incident.
André Ventura, president of the far-right Chega party, accused the centre-right PSD and the left-leaning Livre of orchestrating a suspected break-in at Chega’s parliamentary office. Speaking on the NOW channel, he rejected opposition allegations that the incident was staged, pointing out that critics have also insinuated he might have set fire to the party’s Évora headquarters. Ventura emphasized his early collaboration with the Polícia Judiciária and highlighted his role as an auxiliary of the Ministério Público in pursuing those responsible.
He warned that if he were ever shot, some would still claim he arranged it himself. The accusations come amid ongoing political tension over the incident.
