Apple adds ‘Made for iPhone Duo’ badge to highlight foldable-optimized apps
Apple will display a new “Made for iPhone Duo” badge in the App Store to show which apps are optimized for its foldable iPhone Duo.
Apple is introducing a “Made for iPhone Duo” badge that will be visible across the App Store for apps designed to use the foldable iPhone Duo’s extra screen space. Highlighted apps include Netflix, which can play full-screen video on the inner display while showing short clips on the outer screen, and Amazon Prime Video, which splits content and cast details across the two panels. Microsoft Word and Outlook will provide a desktop-class layout with formatting tools and email side-by-side, while Zoom will show video calls alongside shared content.
Other supported services mentioned are Paramount Plus, one outlet Cooking, Yelp, Lyft, and United Airlines. Apple plans to roll out editorial collections for the Duo on Friday and will continue releasing app updates over the coming year. The iPhone Duo launches at $1,999 with limited walk-in availability.
Why it matters
The badge helps users quickly find apps that fully utilize the iPhone Duo’s unique dual-screen design.
