Attorney-General validates ruler's removal of ten exco members as student murder probed

Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar affirmed that the decision by Tuanku Muhriz to revoke the appointments of ten state executive councilors is lawful, citing Article 38(5) of the Negeri Sembilan constitution which allows the ruler to dismiss members at his pleasure. In a separate case, police chief Alzafny Ahmad announced that the death of a Form 2 student at the Kuala Pilah sports school hostel has been classified as murder, with a 16-year-old detained to assist the investigation.

The victim was taken to Kuala Pilah Hospital where he was pronounced dead, and the probe will proceed under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has instructed the Education Inspectorate to conduct an immediate safety audit of the school and to provide counselling and psychosocial support to the family and staff. Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi outlined three initiatives aimed at deepening public understanding of the Federal Constitution, including history education and a framework to preserve national harmony.
