Barbers says unexplained-wealth charge is strongest impeachment article against Vice President Duterte
Ace Barbers, adviser to the House impeachment team, told a news forum that the unexplained-wealth allegation against Vice President Sara Duterte is, in his view, the most compelling of the three articles being pursued.
During a Saturday News Forum at Dapo Restaurant in Quezon City, Barbers explained that the prosecution relies on extensive documents from government agencies and banks to support the wealth-gap claim. He emphasized that, based on the evidence, the unexplained-wealth charge outweighs the other two articles. Barbers added that his assessment might differ from other members of the prosecution team, but he stands by his judgment.
Why it matters
The assessment could shape the focus of the impeachment trial and influence public perception of the vice president's alleged misconduct.
