Barcelona pushes player sales to hit €100 million target this summer

FC Barcelona’s sporting director Deco is working to speed up a series of player sales with the goal of surpassing €100 million in total receipts. So far this summer the club has recorded €70 million in transfers, the bulk coming from Ferran Torres’s €50 million move to Paris Saint-Germain, of which Barcelona will keep €40 million after a settlement with Manchester City. Ansu Fati’s permanent switch to Monaco fetched €11 million, and several fringe and La Masia graduates have been sold for a few million each, typically with half of their economic rights and buy-back options retained.

Pending deals include Hector Fort, Marc Casado, Tommy Marques, Guille and Toni Fernandez, and defender Jules Kounde, whose potential fee could match the club’s earnings to date. Deco is also negotiating the arrivals of Rodri from Manchester City and Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, linking the outgoing and incoming activity.
