Barcelona ups Rodri bid to €70 million in third offer to Manchester City

Barcelona has sent Manchester City a third proposal for midfielder Rodri, raising the guaranteed fee to €70 million and adding performance-related bonuses.

Barcelona submitted what it calls a decisive third offer for Manchester City’s midfielder Rodri, boosting the guaranteed amount to €70 million. Earlier bids of roughly €45 million and nearly €65 million had failed to satisfy City, which values the player highly. The latest proposal also contains performance-based clauses, though Barcelona expects some of these targets to be challenging.

Negotiations continue with the window winding down, and the club aims to register Rodri before the upcoming Joan Gamper Cup. Optimism within Barcelona is growing, but the transfer will only be confirmed once City accepts the terms and the remaining conditions are settled.

Why it matters

The deal could reshape Barcelona’s midfield and signals a major spending move before the transfer window closes.
