Tijjani Reijnders poised to leave Manchester City for Saudi side Al Qadsiah

Midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is expected to transfer from Manchester City to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah after documents are exchanged.

Manchester City and Saudi club Al Qadsiah are preparing to exchange the necessary documents for Tijjani Reijnders to depart the English side. The Dutch midfielder arrived from AC Milan after being named Serie A's best midfielder for the 2024-25 season, but he failed to become a regular in Pep Guardiola's lineup. While his Premier League debut against Wolves was impressive and he enjoyed a brief scoring run in late December, he spent much of the season on the bench.

The proposed deal values the player at €61 million (£52.1 million). Sources suggest the move is mutually beneficial, allowing Reijnders a fresh start and freeing City of a squad member who did not fit the league's physical demands.

Why it matters

The transfer shows how Premier League clubs adjust squads when players struggle to adapt to the league's style.
