BN Nears Final Deal on Coalition Partners for Upcoming Melaka Election
Barisan Nasional leader Zahid said talks with PAS and Pakatan Harapan are about 95% complete ahead of the Melaka poll, pending the election date announcement.
Zahid, who also heads UMNO, told reporters at Universiti Teknologi Mara that negotiations with the “parties concerned” are almost finished, estimating 95% completion. He added the coalition will be confirmed after the election date is set on Oct 7. PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man reported seat talks with UMNO are roughly 90% done. BN remains open to PAS contesting under its own symbol or the BN logo, and is willing to negotiate with Pakatan Harapan if needed.
Why it matters
