Delhi metro stations shut amid CJP protest, closures extend to October 10
Several Delhi Metro stations, including Sarai Kale Khan-Nizamuddin, remain closed through October 10 due to ongoing CJP protests.
In response to the CJP protest, Delhi Police have instructed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to keep entry and exit points closed at a list of stations, including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, New Delhi, Kashmere Gate, Mandi House, ITO, Patel Chowk, Supreme Court and several others across multiple lines. The closures began at 9 pm on October 9 and will continue through October 10 until authorities deem the situation safe.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation announced that Namo Bharat services between Anand Vihar and Modipuram will operate on schedule, urging passengers to plan ahead. Indian Railways also cancelled all Mail and Express trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4 am and 2 pm on October 10, warning of potential severe road traffic around the stations. The interchange facilities at the affected stations, except New Delhi, will remain functional. These measures aim to prevent disruptions and ensure public safety during the protests.
