Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan Reports First Week of Coalition Talks and AUR Outreach

Siegfried Mureșan, named prime-minister designate by President Nicușor Dan, outlined his activities over the first six days, noting that he has set up negotiations with the National Liberal Party, USR and the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians and begun drafting a coalition government programme. He said each of the three parliamentary groups confirmed their support and will vote for the forthcoming cabinet. Mureșan emphasized his goal of creating a modern, reformed state with a more efficient central and local administration and prudent public-fund management, rejecting populist promises such as free housing.

Addressing AUR voters, he argued the party exploits public discontent but insisted the focus should be on understanding and assisting those voters. He described the upcoming dialogue with the Social Democratic Party as official and respectful, rejecting any attempts to divide other parties. Overall, Mureșan presented a strategy of collaborative politics and policy-driven governance.
