DIICOT raids linked to Călin Georgescu and Buzău businessman Răzvan Leu

DIICOT prosecutors, together with IGPR investigators, carried out five residential searches across Bucharest, Mogoșoaia, Ciolpani and Buftea following a fraud complaint lodged by businessman Răzvan Leu. The case alleges the creation of an organized criminal group and repeated serious fraud. Ion Negoescu, identified as the link between former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu and Leu, was interrogated in connection with the allegations.

Georgescu was taken to his home in Mogoșoaia to assist the authorities during the operation, not detained. The probe also involves businessman Ionel Rusen, who is accused of raising funds for Georgescu's presidential campaign, and Italian national Massimiliano Arena, described as a bank representative from Switzerland.
