Former colleague and partner detained in alleged murder of Gurgaon HR professional
Police have arrested Anya Vats and her partner Sanyam Sachdeva in connection with the alleged murder of HR worker Yuvraj Singh Manchanda after a meeting in Gurgaon.
The family of Yuvraj Singh Manchanda filed a missing-person report after he failed to return home from a scheduled meeting in Gurgaon on September 6. Police traced his last communications to former colleague Anya Vats, who had been dismissed from a real-estate firm amid alleged financial irregularities. Together with her partner Sanyam Sachdeva, both unemployed, Vats is accused of murdering Manchanda, allegedly over a monetary dispute.
According to investigators, the suspects stored the victim's body in his car for at least seven hours before dumping it in a sewer near their residence. After the disposal, they traveled to Uttarakhand, where authorities located and arrested them. The body, found decomposed in a Gurgaon drain on September 10, was identified by the family as Manchanda. Both suspects have been placed in police custody for five days while the investigation continues.
