Gabby Williams leads Golden State Valkyries to WNBA Finals after overtime upset

Gabby Williams propelled the Golden State Valkyries past the Las Vegas Aces in overtime, securing a spot in the WNBA Finals.

The Golden State Valkyries clinched their first WNBA Finals appearance after an 87-77 overtime win over the Las Vegas Aces, who are led by A’ja Wilson. Gabby Williams, the French guard and French Player of the Year, tallied 16 points, three assists and three steals, including a decisive steal from Wilson in the final minutes. Kayla Thornton contributed 18 points and nine rebounds, and the Valkyries surged ahead with a 17-0 run in the third quarter.

French teammates Janelle Salaün and Aminata Gueye also featured, while other French players saw limited action. The Valkyries will meet the Atlanta Dream, who swept the New York Liberty, in a best-of-seven Finals beginning on October 17.
