Hamilton admits title hopes fade after Italian Grand Prix defeat to Antonelli

At Monza, Lewis Hamilton started fourth but was involved in an early incident with Charles Leclerc, causing him to drop down the order. After recovering to fourth, Mercedes chose not to pit him during a mid-race virtual safety car, leaving him on worn tyres and unable to match the pace of the field. He ultimately finished sixth, trailing Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri of McLaren.

Meanwhile, Kimi Antonelli claimed a remarkable victory from 19th on the grid, widening his championship advantage to 76 points over Hamilton with ten rounds remaining. Hamilton acknowledged the loss of points and said the season was now out of his reach, while teammate George Russell remains 66 points behind Antonelli. The next event will be the Spanish Grand Prix on a new street circuit in Madrid.
