Icac probes Charles Perrottet over alleged $2 million hidden donation and lobbying ties

Icac’s latest hearing featured Charles Perrottet, who told investigators he met developer Jean Nassif in 2019 and offered strategic advice over several years, motivated by shared grievances against former Liberal MP David Elliott. Prosecutors are investigating whether a $2 million payment from Nassif was funneled as an undeclared donation to the Reformers, a conservative Liberal-aligned group that includes Jeremy Greenwood and Christian Ellis.

Payments to Charles’s wife Anita, totalling $660,999 for consulting work with Beckington and other firms, were also examined, though she could not recall specific advice. The commission reviewed extensive digital and financial records, as well as CCTV footage of meetings, while former building commissioner David Chandler and ex-minister Eleni Petinos described a campaign to oust Chandler. The probe ties the alleged donations to broader political maneuvers, including the disendorsement of Hills Shire councillors and the removal of David Elliott from parliament.
