Israel reports 1,318 security personnel dead since Oct. 7 Hamas assault
The Israeli defence ministry says 1,318 soldiers, police, Shin Bet agents and other security staff have died since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.
According to the defence ministry, the death toll includes soldiers, police officers, Shin Bet operatives, firefighters, prison wardens and civilian officials who died in combat or from accidents, illness or suicide. Most fatalities occurred in fighting across the Gaza Strip, Lebanon and the West Bank. The conflict has also created more than 7,150 bereaved family members, among them parents, widows, children and siblings.
