MACC Unveils Five-Pillar Strategy to Tackle Evolving Corruption Threats
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission outlined a five-pillar framework—integrity, fair enforcement, prevention, technology and public trust—to guide its work as it marks 59 years of service.
Marking its 59th anniversary, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission presented a five-pillar roadmap designed to modernise its fight against corruption. Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman highlighted integrity as the core bulwark, insisting it must permeate all decisions and investigations regardless of rank. Fair and equitable enforcement will balance firm action with respect for the dignity of those under investigation, exemplified by recent changes to lock-up attire rules.
Proactive prevention will focus on identifying systemic loopholes, enhancing public education and using intelligence-led probes before scandals grow. The commission will also adopt more digital tools, data analytics and AI to accelerate case processing while maintaining transparency, and it aims to rebuild public trust through consistent performance and accountability.
