Malaysia's haze eases as most regions report good or moderate air quality

Air quality across Malaysia improved this morning, with the majority of locations showing good or moderate API levels, though several districts in Sarawak remain unhealthy.

The Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal shows that 29 locations in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak recorded good API readings, while 32 posted moderate levels as of 7 a.m. However, seven monitoring stations in Sarawak still registered unhealthy values, the highest being 173 at the Serian district police headquarters. Other affected districts include Samarahan, Kuching, Sarikei, Sibu, Sri Aman and Mukah, all with readings above 100.

Why it matters

Improved air quality reduces health risks for millions of Malaysians and signals progress in managing regional haze.
