Malaysia sticks with proven 12-man Sepaktakraw squad for Asian Games gold push

The Malaysian Sepaktakraw Association will send the same 12-player team that won the 2025 SEA Games to the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, aiming for gold.

At a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian Sepaktakraw Association announced that it will retain the exact 12-man lineup that secured victory at the 2025 SEA Games for the upcoming 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. President Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan emphasized that all selected athletes are currently in top physical condition and possess the mental strength required for the continent-wide competition. He stressed that the Asian Games are not a venue for experimenting with younger talent, given the country's strong desire for gold medals. The squad, coached by Ahmad Jais Baharun, will contest both the team regu and regu categories, featuring players such as Syahir Rosdi, Haziq Hairul Nizam, Zulkifli Razak, Zarif Marican, Azlan Alias, Noraizat Nordin, Afifuddin Razali, Hafizul Hayazi, Adnan Farhan Adam, Amirul Zazwan Amir, Aidil Aiman Azwawi and Zuleffendi Sumari.
