Massive Russian drone barrage hits Ukrainian schools and business districts
Russia launched over 100 drones against Ukraine overnight, striking Odesa, Kyiv and a school in the Solomianski district; most drones were shot down and no injuries were reported.
In a coordinated night operation, Russian forces sent 107 drones toward Ukraine, with Ukrainian air defenses downing 87 of them. The attacks focused on Odesa, where a business centre was hit, and Kyiv, where fires broke out at a depot, a café and a school in the Solomianski district, damaging the third-floor façade. The school’s director confirmed that an air-raid alert prompted the evacuation of all students to shelters, and that no injuries occurred among the more than 100 pupils and roughly 60 staff members inside.
Police reports indicated additional drone impacts on commercial storage facilities in the Obolonski district and a non-operational complex in Pecerski. The incident underscores the ongoing aerial threat to civilian infrastructure across multiple Ukrainian regions.
