Mayor Dominic Fritz calls supporters to rally ahead of impending term termination

Dominic Fritz, who has led Timișoara since the 2020 local elections, scheduled a public event called “Timișoara. Revoluția continuă” for a Sunday afternoon at the CRAFT venue on Bulevardul Eroilor de la Tisa. The rally is positioned as a dual celebration of his six-year mayoral record and a mobilising moment in light of a constitutional court ruling that will end his term within weeks due to incompatibility concerns raised by PSD-backed legislation.

In his invitation, Fritz highlighted the need for local residents to respond, invoking dignity, solidarity and a forward-looking resolve, and claimed his city’s experience could be replicated elsewhere. He cited recent affirmations from domestic and overseas personalities, international media and European bodies as evidence of broader backing for his initiatives. Attendance requires prior registration, with doors opening shortly before the start time.
