The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry said it is ready to provide counselling to relatives of those killed in the Long Lellang helicopter crash, according to Minister Nancy Shukri.
The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) confirmed its readiness to deliver counselling support to the families of the five people who lost their lives in a BO-105 helicopter crash near the Short Take-off and Landing airstrip at Long Lellang, Ulu Baram, Sarawak. Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri highlighted that counsellors need specific preparation because the affected families are experiencing profound distress.
The crash involved four Health Ministry personnel and a pilot on a Flying Doctor Service flight, which ignited after the accident. Shukri made the statement after officiating the Semporna Zero Tolerance for Violence Programme. She also noted that families should be given time to come to terms with the tragedy before receiving assistance.
