Mobile police unit to be positioned near Najib's house arrest site

Sentul police chief Anuar Bakri Salam announced that a mobile police station will be set up near one of Najib's official residences to coordinate security for his return, manage traffic, and ensure media safety, but it will not serve as a 24-hour guard. He said no formal confirmation has been received that this house will be the designated house-arrest location, and other properties may also be under consideration. The prisons department, responsible for monitoring Najib, sent four officers to inspect the premises and will handle ongoing supervision.

Police deployment will consist of a supervisor, two officers and a mobile patrol vehicle to assist Najib's movements and protect journalists. Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar stated that standard operating procedures will cover visits, security measures and movement monitoring after the official letter arrives. Najib, aged 73, received a conditional pardon from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until August 23, 2028, provided he pays a RM50 million fine and complies with all conditions.
