Nor'easter battering U.S. Northeast leaves at least one dead and widespread power outages
An off‑season nor'easter struck the Northeast corridor, delivering heavy rain, strong winds and high surf that caused a tree to fall on a New York City housing authority employee, resulting in a fatality. The storm produced coastal flooding in low‑lying neighborhoods from New Jersey to Connecticut and knocked down trees and utility poles across the region.
