Parliament set to vote on Luca Niculescu's new cabinet after minister hearings

The proposed ministers for Luca Niculescu's government will be heard in two days of hearings, followed by a confidence vote in Parliament.

Parliament will conduct hearings of the ministers nominated by Luca Niculescu over two consecutive days, beginning with the agriculture portfolio at midday and continuing through the afternoon. The justice ministry candidate will be heard the following morning, after which the hearings will finish around noon. The designated premier will then be allotted thirty minutes to present his governing agenda and persuade legislators to approve the cabinet.

Earlier, the premier submitted his program and ministerial list within the constitutional deadline. Liberal leaders have pledged to back the new government, while the social-democratic bloc confirmed support for eleven of the twelve ministers. The incoming executive will comprise eighteen ministries.

Why it matters

The confidence vote will determine whether the newly proposed cabinet can assume full governing authority.
