PH candidates urged to build robust campaign teams for Melaka election
PKR vice-president R. Ramanan said PH hopefuls must develop strong campaign machinery, not just rely on past service, ahead of the Melaka state poll.
At a HRD Corp Pocket Talk Roadshow in Alor Gajah, PKR vice-president Datuk Seri R. Ramanan urged Pakatan Harapan candidates contesting the November 14 Melaka state election to focus on building extensive campaign machinery. He argued that a solid record of community service is insufficient if candidates lack a capable team to mobilise voters in multiple locations. Ramanan cited the need to move away from relying solely on personal effort, aligning with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s emphasis on ground engagement and public acceptance.
He also noted that PH’s candidate vetting includes criminal background checks and financial assessments. The nomination deadline is Oct 31, early voting will occur on Nov 10, and the election follows the 2021 result where BN won 21 of 28 seats.
