Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail welcomed UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's recent declaration that the party will stay in one outlet unity government until the end of its term. Saifuddin said the stance aligns with the 2022 memorandum of understanding that created the coalition and is essential for political stability, economic growth and delivering solutions to the public. He described the occasional attacks between PH and UMNO leaders as typical political discourse that has not undermined the alliance.
The comments were made in Kulim after Saifuddin inspected the Kampung Badlishah-Ayer Putih road construction project. Zahid, speaking after the UMNO General Assembly, reiterated the party's support for the existing administration and said it would not oppose any party, including the Prime Minister. Saifuddin concluded that the firm commitment from UMNO reinforces the coalition’s continuity.
