Poland confirms U-20 Women's World Cup proceeds despite UEFA boycott threat

The Polish Football Association announced that the build-up to the U-20 Women’s World Cup, set for 5-27 September, continues according to plan and no nation has signaled a pull-out. New Zealand Football and the French federation have pledged to send squads, whereas the English FA, Canada Soccer and the US Soccer Federation have offered no comment. UEFA, whose 55 members voted for a boycott following Gianni Infantino’s failed proposal to sell 20% of World Cup commercial rights, reiterated that its conditions for participation have not been met.

A source close to the talks said discussions about possible replacement tournaments have not yet begun, but are hoped to be unnecessary. The tournament is seen as a key development milestone for young female players, and officials remain focused on delivering a successful event despite the broader governance clash.
