Polish premier cites CIA warning, urges Europe to brace for varied Russian threats

During a press briefing in Slovakia's capital, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the CIA had delivered a "fairly precise" assessment of potential Russian activities over the next months. He did not disclose the report's details but urged Poland and the wider European community to brace for diverse scenarios, not limited to the conflict in Ukraine but also encompassing hybrid assaults on transport infrastructure and threats along the EU's eastern border.

Military analyst General Bogusław Pacek, speaking on Polsat News, said the premier's comments suggest possible hybrid attacks and that even President Vladimir Putin may lack full knowledge of upcoming plans. Pacek stressed that Russia cannot directly confront NATO, yet could seek to split the alliance and weaken collective response. He warned that a situation where NATO members hesitate to aid each other would be a dangerous scenario, and concluded that if the CIA's intelligence is accurate, Tusk's call for preparedness is justified.
