PP leader Feijóo urges Sánchez to call early general election

Feijóo held a press conference after two housing decrees were rejected, blaming Sánchez for the lack of parliamentary support and urging a vote to let citizens decide. He criticized the use of housing issues for electoral tactics and called for the prime minister to address the nation directly. The PP leader argued that the government no longer has backing from either the Cortes or the public.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, president of the Partido Popular, pressed Pedro Sánchez to dissolve the Cortes Generales and call a general election, arguing that the present political stalemate cannot continue. Speaking after the defeat of two housing decrees, Feijóo accused the prime minister of governing without public accounts, parliamentary support, and under constant ministerial tension. He warned that Spain is reaching a breaking point and that the government lacks both legislative and popular legitimacy.

Feijóo also condemned the exploitation of the housing crisis for political maneuvering and urged Sánchez to travel across the country to explain his administration's record. He suggested that any decision on the housing decree was driven by electoral calculations rather than citizen welfare.
