PSD chief warns that blocked government formation could trigger early elections
PSD secretary-general Claudiu Manda said the party must prepare for the possibility of snap elections, blaming Ilie Bolojan for stalling government formation.
Claudiu Manda, the PSD's general secretary, warned that the party must be ready for a scenario in which Romania holds snap elections, even though he considers it an undesirable path. He attributed the risk to Ilie Bolojan, who he says has blocked the creation of a government for five months while putting party concerns ahead of citizens' needs. Manda expressed irritation at Bolojan's remarks, suggesting the latter should concentrate on finding solutions rather than mocking PSD proposals.
The PSD leader emphasized the need for a fully empowered cabinet capable of adjusting the budget and preparing the next fiscal plan. He stated that PSD would enter a coalition with the appointed prime minister Luca Niculescu if the latter presents a program that reverses one outlet economic direction and addresses issues such as investment, jobs, and funding for hospitals, ambulances, pensions and salaries.
