PSD leader Grindeanu vows readiness to govern after Mureșan cabinet rejection

Parliament rejected Siegfried Mureșan's proposed government, falling short of the 233 votes needed with a tally of 182 for and 15 against. In response, PSD president Sorin Grindeanu urged the nation to obtain a fully empowered cabinet to change what he described as a wrong direction. He affirmed that the Social Democrats are prepared to create the necessary parliamentary majority and take charge of Romania's recovery.

Grindeanu also stated that his party will not back the dismissed "Bolojan reșapat" government. Following the defeat, the constitutional duty shifts to President Nicușor Dan, who can summon parties for consultations and appoint a new prime-ministerial nominee. Grindeanu's remarks signal the PSD's intent to position itself as the next governing force.
