Russian air strikes hit multiple Ukrainian cities, killing a rescue worker in Kherson

Russian forces launched air attacks on at least 22 locations across Ukraine, killing a rescue service driver in Kherson and wounding families in several cities.

Russian air raids hit at least 22 unspecified locations in Ukraine, causing civilian casualties in several regions. In Kherson, a rescue service driver lost his life, and a nearby apartment housed an injured family consisting of an adult woman, a man and a one-month-old infant. Zaporizhzhia’s regional administration said five people were hurt, including an eleven-year-old girl.

Kharkiv saw its number of injured rise to fifteen after a missile strike, with three of those victims being children. Ukrainian officials continue to accuse Moscow of intensifying aerial assaults, while the Russian defence ministry has not released its own casualty report. Moscow’s mayor Sergej Sobjanin announced on Telegram that dozens of drones aimed at the capital were shot down.

Why it matters

The strikes illustrate the ongoing civilian toll of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the heightened intensity of aerial warfare.
