Russian defence ministry says it seized two villages and claims heavy Ukrainian losses
The Russian defence ministry announced the capture of Ulanove in Sumy region and Novovodiane in Donetsk, while reporting significant Ukrainian casualties.
On Monday, the Russian defence ministry reported that its troops had occupied the settlements of Ulanove in Sumy province and Novovodiane in Donetsk province. It added that combat operations were ongoing in northern Kharkiv and the Dobropillia region. The ministry claimed Ukrainian forces were incurring about 1,350 daily fatalities and severe wounds, and said it had destroyed drone production facilities, 14 armored fighting vehicles, two Grad rocket launchers, ten guided bombs and 442 drones.
It also noted that, since the war began, more than 73,000 Ukrainian special military vehicles had been destroyed, a figure presented by Russian sources. Separate regional reports described drone attacks on infrastructure that caused damage but no injuries.
