Zelensky confirms Ukrainian strike on Rostov missile-component factory

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian troops struck a factory in Russia’s Rostov region that manufactures components for missiles, artillery and the Pantsir-S2 air-defence system. He framed the raid as a long-range retaliatory action against Russian civilian targets. According to the SBU, the operation was executed by the Alpha special-forces group in coordination with the Ukrainian navy, employing Neptune cruise missiles and a fleet of Ruta, Palianytsia and Bars drones.

Preliminary assessments indicate damage to the plant’s optical production rooms, an assembly department, a galvanising furnace and a printed-circuit-board manufacturing unit. The factory is owned by Tactical Missiles Corporation, which produces electronic systems for a range of weapons. Earlier on the same day, Ukraine also struck targets in the Ulyanovsk, Tula and Voronezh regions.
