Students plan protest against Turning Point USA memorial at Utah Valley University

On the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s death, Turning Point USA will host a memorial at Utah Valley University, with remarks from radio host Glenn Beck, author Frank Turek and TPUSA officials. The university will suspend classes and shut down the campus on Sept. 10, offering security while emphasizing its apolitical stance. In response, the Students for a Democratic Society club has drafted an open letter, now signed by more than 600 students, denouncing the event and accusing President Jon Anderson of aligning with Kirk’s organization.

The letter warns that the memorial will further harm the campus community. UVU officials maintain the event is not university-sponsored, but the campus will be used for the ceremony at the UCCU Center. No comment was received from either UVU or TPUSA at the time of reporting.
